HDD data recovery in Riga by SIA Interfeis — safe and confidential hard drive data retrieval since 1991. We work with drives from all manufacturers — Seagate, Western Digital, Toshiba, Hitachi, Samsung — in both 2.5'' and 3.5'' form factors.

How does HDD data recovery work? First, our specialists perform a detailed diagnostic to determine the type of failure — mechanical (heads, motor, surface) or logical (firmware, file system). This determines the recovery method and likelihood of success.

For mechanical failures, head swaps and other procedures are performed in a clean room to prevent further surface damage. Data is then imaged to an intermediate drive and recovered. For logical failures we use professional tools including R-Studio, GetDataBack and the PC-3000 hardware system.

Common HDD data loss causes we handle: clicking drive (head damage), drive not detected in BIOS, extremely slow operation (bad sectors), accidental formatting or deletion, power surge, water or physical damage.

Critical: do not restart a clicking drive — it accelerates head damage and reduces recovery chances. Power off the computer and contact us as soon as possible.

After recovery we retain the original drive for 5 days. Recovered data is copied to a new storage device provided by the client or purchased from us. No result — no charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can data be recovered from a clicking HDD?
Clicking indicates mechanical head damage. Turn off the computer immediately — continued operation worsens the damage. Recovery is still possible but must be performed by specialists.
How much does HDD data recovery cost?
Price depends on damage type. Logical failure — from €100. Surface damage (bad sectors) — €150–€700. Head crash — €300–€600 (donor drive cost not included). Exact price confirmed after diagnostics.
How long does HDD data recovery take?
Logical damage — 1–3 working days. Physical damage — 3–10 working days. Timeline depends on severity.
Can you recover data from an HDD after a drop?
Yes. Drops typically damage the read heads or surface. Do not power the drive again. Bring it to us as soon as possible.
Do you recover data from laptop HDDs?
Yes. We work with 2.5'' laptop drives from all manufacturers — Seagate, Western Digital, Toshiba, Hitachi, Samsung.
Can data be recovered after formatting?
Yes, in most cases — as long as no new data was written after formatting. Quick format only removes the file table; data physically remains on the drive. Full format makes recovery harder but partial recovery is often still possible.
Is recovery possible if the HDD clicks and BIOS doesn't detect it?
Clicking indicates head damage — recovery is possible but must be done in a clean room. Results depend on the drive model and donor availability. Do not restart the computer — it accelerates head destruction.
What percentage of data is typically recovered?
For mechanical failures — typically 60–95% depending on surface condition. For logical failures — usually 90–100%. We cannot guarantee a specific percentage as results depend on the individual damage.
